As July begins, the real heat of summer has started. Despite the scorching weather, our flower volunteers have once again prepared Tanabata decorations for the children.
The bamboo used for the decorations grows on our school grounds. Each year, the volunteers replant the bamboo in pots specifically for the children's Tanabata decorations.
Seeing the children attaching their wishes to the bamboo leaves on tanzaku paper is a timeless tradition. We hope they never forget those wishes. It was a truly beautiful scene.
Additionally, during the lunchtime broadcast on July 4th, members of the Yotsuba storytelling group read "Orpheus's Lyre" from the Greek myth of Lyra. We are grateful to the local community members who gently bring the spirit of Tanabata to our children.
We hope for clear skies on July 7th and that the children's wishes come true. 🌟
