Hello, my name is Shiori Azuma. This is my second year as PTA leader.
This year marks the third year since Fumihama Elementary School's PTA activities became volunteer-based. At that time, we were in the midst of the Corona disaster. School events and PTA activities were cut back, and the relationship between the school and parents was weakened. In the midst of such a situation, we searched for something we could do for the children, and the result was the current PTA activities under the voluntary membership and volunteer type.
Fumihama Elementary School was one of the first in the city to switch to a voluntary membership system. Therefore, there were both positive and negative opinions. However, I believe that the Fumihama Elementary School PTA, which operates under the motto "Those who can, do what they can, when they can," represents a new and modern form of PTA that aligns with the current era.
The core of PTA activities is to support a safe educational environment for children. Each of our volunteer activities may seem small, but the cooperation of the families brings smiles to children's faces, enhances their school experience, and provides valuable support to the school's administration by teachers.
We aim to make the PTA a place where activities are driven by goodwill rather than obligation. We also want to create an environment where parents can enjoy their activities and support the smiling faces of their children every day. We will foster a school environment that is cherished by both children and their parents.
Let's enjoy PTA activities together again this year! We are looking forward to your joining us.
